big offseason moves for 2011 mlb season

    Spring training has started and that means 1 thing baseball season will soon begin. We all know every off season big moves are made so make us yell, happy and some bewilder us. I'm going to give my point of view on the players that changed teams in the off season and what I think about the move.

Adrian Gonzalez- Great pickup for the red sox even though the gave up half the farm. I think he'll end up dropping a little stats wise, he batting average will drop to 270 something and he'll get around 30 home runs on the other hand his rbi's should go up!!!

 Carl Crawford is the best move the sox made this offseason. He'll add range to a lacking leftfield stolenbases, more runs and hes a great clubhouse guy. As a rays fan it sucks but thats the nature of the beast.

 Victor Martinez this is a great addition he adds power and leadership to the catcher spot and he can also backup miggy.(if he leaves the sauce alone) Victor is great at helping young pitchers become better and his hitting will benefit at the 5th spot in the batting order. O and by the way, way to go redsox u'll be missing vic badly down the stretch!!!

 Adrian Beltre is a good pickup for texas but they had michealyoung and hes just as good. He adds depth to the infield and he had his best year in while last year. They can now rotate Young an Beltre at 1st/3rd base at will.

Manny/ Johnny Damon this puzzles me because the rays let pena and crawford walk without a fight! I believe these 2 have something left even though Manny is moody at times and johnny isn't as good as he once was. This will be a wait and see move for me!!!

 Carlos Pena/ Matt Garza these were 2 of my favorite rays and it kills me to see them go! Garza will be the ace of that staff!!!(for you cubs fans screamin what about dempster wake up Garza's much better) He helps bolster a staff that include randy wells Carlos Silva(both decent pitchers) Ryan Dempster and big Z(if he gets his head out of his ass) Meanwhile Carlos Pena will put up great home runand RBI numbers that will make the cubs forget about derrick lee.

Mark Ryenolds/Derrick Lee/Vlad the impaler. These are 3 great moves to add a fighting chance that Baltimore can Cheer for there team once again!!! Ryenolds was a great pickup and they got him for nothing, he'll add home runs, rbis like crazy only downfall is all the k's. Vlad will add a great locker room presenceand leadership with stats to follow. Lee another guy who can help the flatlined O's offence.

Cliff lee The phillies hit the jackpot here. Lee will bolster a staff anchored by Halloday and back ended by Hamels, Ozwalt and ..........(i don't think blanton hes horrible) IT doesnt matter who starter 5 is the front 4 are deadly.

  Jayson Werth ok I think that nats paid to much 60-80mil was plenty. Its going to take awhile to see if this will pay off. If jason stays healthy he should help. I hope he does cuzhe was always cool when he was with L.A.

 Vernon Wells great pickup for the Angels! He's a great all around player and nice guy. He'll help the Angels battle for the top spot!!!

  Dan Uggla Braves/ Rapheal Soriano ok these 2 moves didn't need to be made but they will help there teams. Any braves fan knows that Martin Prado plays a good 2nd base but his utility makes this a great move. Uggla Will add some power and a decent glove to a braves team thats ready to get back to greatness. Soriano was the best closer in baseball last year and this signing mad non sence because they have big mo. If this is really Mo's last year then it makes sence other wise Soriano is just a high priced setup man that's been known to buggle under pressure.
